My brother-in-law's girlfriend and I made our own cosmetics this weekend!

We made homemade lipgloss, homemade jelly highlighter and homemade jelly eyeshadow.

We used very simple ingredients to make these and all the ingredients are vegan. They were so much fun and we had a blast developing the recipes!

We colored the cosmetics with mica powder that I got from Amazon. A little mica powder goes a long way though, and we still have a ton left even from this huge batch that we made here.

We might make more and post to my Etsy shop, but right now I'm doing a revamp of my shop and I don't want to advertise it until the revamp is completed. I'm also looking into Shopify as an option and it will probably be later this year that MoodBird does its official launch. I've opened sales to family and friends only, as a type of soft launch.

There's many recipes on the Internet if you want to make your own. One thing that I love about homemade cosmetics, is that you can control what goes into them and you have control over the ingredients. If you're allergic to something, you know to leave it out or substitute it for something else.

But anyway, this was a blast while we did it and I recommend gathering your girlfriends together for your own cosmetics/skincare-making night!
