1917 Movie Review

So today, we went to go and see the movie "1917." The setting takes place during World War I and centers around a pair of British soldiers bringing a message to another unit to stop an attack on the Germans.

First and foremost, my husband is active military, as everyone knows. Even though he's Navy, seeing how much troops (no matter which side they represent) have to go through to defend their country, their families, friends and loved ones really struck me. These people are in the midst of literal war. They are unable to see their loved ones and are faced everyday with the reality that they may never see their loved ones again. They may die on the battlefield in the midst of misery and turmoil. I am humbled and grateful that such people would be willing to make such a sacrifice and my heart overflows with all the support I can ever give.

So, spoiler alert: at the end of the movie, obviously the guy makes it to the other unit. Being that these were the days before Uber and Lyft, the airplanes looked like they were made out of toothpicks and most likely would not be able to pick him up in the middle of the field and it's most likely their automobiles were those very old, very vintage and dangerous ones that could probably not travel farther than 100 miles at most...I'm wondering how the dude got back to his original unit? I mean, did he stay in the other unit (sorry, I have NO idea how the military works and if that's even allowed), like did they send someone to pick him up or did he actually have to venture back and dodge all the boobie traps and everything?

I'm So Behind

No photo for this one, because I have no words to describe how behind I am with my assignments for school. It's already Tuesday and I...
