I got the following in my DUA Employer inbox and when I called the Commonwealth's DUA office, our conversation went something along the lines of the playbill after:
The government: 👮🏼♀️🕵🏻 You must grant the employee who works any one shift lasting 6 hours or more, a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
Me: What if the employee chooses to continue to work during the meal break?
The government: The employee must sign a waiver that states that they choose to waive their meal breaks. Also, if we get any indication that you forced the employee or coerced them/threatened them in any way shape or form to sign this waiver, we will know and we will send the goons to your door. 🕵🏻👨🏻✈️💥
Me: 😰😰😰 And okay, where can I get the waiver form?
The government: You have to make your own 👋🏻🤙🏻
Me: Well lah-dee-dah, how do I draft a formal affidavit without loopholes? 😣😤
The government: You hire an attorney.
Me: But I don't wanna hire an attorney. Those guys are kind of expensive 💸💸
The government: You've been bull shot 🎯
That's all. Hope everyone's having a great day!
